Feifei
Yes, him. And you know that his world tour is a sell-out – there are no tickets left?

Rob
Yes, sadly.

Feifei
Well, look at these! 我搞到了两张贾斯汀·汀布瑞维演唱会的票。他全球巡演的票已经销售一空，可我还是弄到了两张，怎么样，我厉害吧？

Rob
Wow! Two tickets to see Justin Timberriver in London tomorrow! That's amazing, how did you manage to pull those out of the hat?

Err, Rob – I didn't pull them out of anyone's hat – I used my own money to buy them from a friend.

Rob
No, Feifei – if you 'pull something out of a hat' it means you produce something unexpectedly – by surprise – that solves a problem.

Feifei
OK, I see! 表达 pull something out of the hat 的意思是某人突然出乎意料地使出妙计来解决一个问题。So these tickets are an unexpected surprise?

Rob
