辨析易混动词 hear 和 listen

内容简介

动词 “hear” 和 “listen” 都可以描述 “听” 这个动作,但它们的用法却不同,所以不能互换使用。哪个词可以表达 “听音乐” 的 “听”?哪个词的意思是 “听到声音”?听主持人 Roy 的讲解,学习 “hear” 和 “listen” 之间的区别。

文字稿

Hi! I'm Roy, and today I'm going to tell you the difference between two words that are often confused: hear and listen.

Hear is the verb we use to talk about the ability. It doesn't mean that we want to hear something. It's about sounds coming to our ears.

I can hear the air conditioning. It doesn't mean that I want to hear it, but I can.

The verb listen is often followed by the preposition 'to'. We use this verb when we're paying attention or focusing on sounds.

I hope you're listening to me. That means I hope you're paying attention.

Compare these two sentences:
I can hear some music (somewhere).
I am listening to some music. I'm listening to a song that I want to listen to.

Anyway, I've got to go. I can hear my boss calling me.

用法总结

1. 动词 “hear” 描述的是 “可以听到” 的能力,表示声音进入耳朵是无意识的动作,与这个人的意愿无关。

  • I can hear the air conditioning.
  • I can hear my boss calling me.
  • He heard something and woke up.

2. 动词 “listen” 强调有意识的 “去听,注意听”,或 “倾听”,后常接介词 “to”。

  • I hope you're listening to me.
  • Listen! Who's there?
  • You should listen to your parents.

3. 对比下面两个句子,记忆 “hear” 和 “listen” 的含义和用法。

  • I can hear some music.  (我能听见有音乐声)
  • I am listening to some music.  (我在听我想听的音乐)
